The sloping beds in front of Blocks 4 and 5 have received some attention in that a lot of the “dead” succulents have been removed and replaced with new cuttings which will spread quickly once the weather improves!
To the side of Block 5 plants, such as Rosemary and Thyme, are going to be planted. The soil in that area is very poor as it contains a great deal of builders’ rubble so the succulents will not grow there. I am told Rosemary and Thyme will grow in virtually anything.
The irrigation tubing around blocks 5 and 4 are going to be replaced, once the estimate for the work is approved by OCSI. Hopefully this will mean that the sloping beds will then receive water and the plants will grow again!
The Lantana hedging plants up on the pavement by blocks 4 and 5 are barely alive due to lack of water. Once the weather improves fertiliser will also be applied to the soil. |
