Bonsai now have the parts to reconstruct/repair the irrigation system and will do so as soon as possible. Bonsai are aware that there are a great many weeds in the sloping beds by blocks 4 and 5 and unfortunately these beds have to be weeded “by hand” and will take some time. Weed killer cannot be applied as it will also kill the succulents.
There are some pink flowering succulents at the end of the gardens by the pool and the gardeners will take cuttings and plant in front of blocks 5, 4 and 3 to mix in with the succulents already there. Hopefully in time making a lovely show of colour.
Apparently when Bonsai went to the Nursery for our replacement shrubs there were very few available. They are on the case, apparently, and once there are more shrubs available they will be planted to fill in the gaps in the various hedges.
Similarly so far only 3 rose bushes have been planted in each of the raised beds at the end of the pool area. As soon as more bushes become available at the Nursery these will also be planted.
Once the irrigation system and weeding has been completed gravel will be spread around the “new” flower bed at the side of Block 5.
The path outside Block 1 which is currently covered in black mould will be cleaned. Unfortunately this will always be the case because as soon as it rains the water settles on the path and eventually turns to mould.
The old gnarled lavender bush outside block 1 (which is barely alive) will be replaced.
Not all the pool lights are working, unfortunately 3 of the bulbs have broken and someone needs to get into the water to change the bulbs. Once the weather (and the water) warms up these bulbs will be replaced.
Apparently because of the change in the weather over recent weeks it means there have not been enough plants available in the nurseries, a great many of them are either late or have been damaged with the dramatic change in temperature over a few weeks.
The same thing applies to the weeds too much rain and then sun makes them grow like mad and the gardeners are struggling to keep up with them.
I had a real nag this week at our meeting as I keep being given promises and not much seems to happen. I am expecting an email from Bonsai next week with a timetable of when all the points I raised will be resolved.
I will make sure Paul has a copy for the meeting on 21 May.
