After my 5 weeks in the UK I met with David of Bonsai on Wednesday 8 June.
Gardens
Rose bushes now planted in raised flower beds by Block 5.
The succulents growing on the top of the sloping bank on Calle Cereza by Block 5 will be cut back, new soil introduced and Bonsai will try again to grow the Lantana bushes that grow so well in front of the other blocks. The area by Block 5 at the top of Calle Cereza gets full sun and therefore the bushes do not grow so well.
Flowering succulents will be introduced into the sloping banks by Blocks 4 and 5 to add some colour.
Before July all bushes, trees and palms will be pruned back.
New plants have now been planted at the entrance to Block 1, including a new lavender bush!
There is an empty flower pot outside Block 1 and a new plant will be planted in it.
Some bushes have been replaced/and or planted in the hedging outside blocks 2 and 3 there are still more to be planted to fill in the gaps.
Apparently Bonsai have now got the new equipment to do something with the irrigation system – not before time.
We agreed that all the steps from the pavement to the blocks and from between blocks 4 and 5 to the pool area would be cleaned. A machine would also be used to clean the walkways in front of the blocks and between Blocks 4 and 5.
At the time of writing (Sunday 12 June) the steps have been swept and washed, and I did see the machine! Still need to double check it was used!
The Pool
The pool lights are not working properly – still. It would seem they all work manually but as soon as the system is switched to automatic it goes haywire. We either have four street lights working by the raised flower beds by Block 5 and half the pool lights out or street lights out and more pool lights on. Bonsai’s electrician is trying to sort it out – apparently the amperage is incorrect!
3 of the pool lights at the deep end need to be repaired but cannot be done until the pool has warmed up as it necessitates the guys getting into the pool to repair them. (No comment).
Pool temperature today was 28 degrees!
