This Weekend 3rd, 4th & 5th of February sees Orihuela City's streets transformed into a straw covered Medieval Market for the 13th year.

Always well attended and quite a spectacle with costumes, 5 kilometres of stalls, street performers, animals, birds of prey, jousting and spit roast pigs !

There's a great atmosphere with plenty to stop and watch, smell and enjoy with what we can only imagine is an authentic medieval feel.

Here's a taster of last years merriment.

Buses will be available from Orihuela Costa to Orihuela City during the event.  Unlike previous years there will be a cost for the service.  The return fare will be €4.90.  Buses leave Playa Flamenca (the roundabout at Mercadona) to the Market area in Orihuela.  Times are:-

Friday 3rd February - Dep: Playa Flamenca 17.00 then Dep: Orihuela 22.00

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February - Dep: Playa Flamenca 10.00 and 17.00 then Dep: Orihuela 15.00 and 22.00

If you wish to attend the market by bus you will need to reserve your seat. Reservations can be made at the Tourist Office (Open Mon-Fri 9-2:30pm) by phoning (0034) 966 760 000 extensions 31 or by e-mail to orihuelaplaya @ touristinfo.net
