As most of you will be already aware there were two earthquakes yesterday in the Murcian town of Lorca, about 120km southwest of Alicante, one of 4.8 and the other 5.3 on the Richter Scale.
Much damage was caused and there were ten fatalities plus many injured.
Here on the Costa Blanca, the quakes were barely felt. I knew nothing about it until my sister called me to check I was ok some 4 hours after the quakes, having seen it on the news in the UK. Others felt a slight tremor, including one neighbour who was in the bath at the time.
The event really should come as no surprise given that we are situated very close to the faultline that separates the European and African continents.
But worry not, all the buildings in our community are safe and sound.
