Our full time residents will certainly have noticed their electricity bills going up this year as they have for all owners. There were 3 rises last year and then a 9.9% rise in January.
There are reportedly three more rises expected in 2011; I think we have just experienced another rise and it's my blood pressure.
We have just had a bill for 9 weeks usage of 256€. Considering Paul and I are out pretty much all day we are beginning to wonder if Sammy has a key and regularly has after school gaming sessions with all his mates and their laptops !
So we are changing over to Iberswitch who claim that they can save us between 10 and 30%. There are nearly 30 electricity providers in Spain and they are beginning to realise that competitive pricing will get them more business. (Who said the naivety of Spain was charming? Sometimes I find it downright frustrating)
So Iberswitch say: "your monthly bill will be scrutinised for anomalies (?) and the market place policed so that better rates, as they become available, can be applied to your account automatically"
It does cost 30€ to initiate this service and then 3.50€ or 30% of the savings each month thereafter and we're doing this through EasyAds at La Zenia.
We will keep you informed as to how quickly and smoothly this all happens and hopefully what our percentage savings turn out to be.
